O&G Masonry Division Posts Holiday Hours


During the Easter holiday season our thoughts turn gratefully to our customers - we thank you for your continuous support, loyalty and for allowing us to earn your business everyday. 

So our employees may enjoy the holiday with their family O&G posts the following hours for our stores and Earth Products Showcase showrooms.

O&G Hosts Program for CT ASLA

Permeable Pavements

This program will inspire landscape architects, architects, engineers, developers and municipal agencies to consider permeable pavers and concrete solutions as the first choice for sustainable, storm water solutions. This program will also provide critical information on how to specify products, how to draw into plans, how to construct (methods and sequencing) and how to maintain. This program is registered for 5.0 CEU credit hours with LACES and AIA-CES

8:30-9:15: Registration and breakfast/networking

9:15-9:30: Introduction
 

9:30-10:30: Jane L. Didona, ASLA will discuss How Stormwater Management Impacts the Design of the Outdoor Environment. Her talk will include stormwater management practices including permeable pavements. Attendees will come away with an understanding that stormwater is another resource that can influence and enhance the design of a landscape. Ms. Didona has practiced Landscape Architecture in Connecticut and New York for 35 years. She is the founder and principal of Didona Associates Landscape Architects.

10:30-10:45: Break
 

10:45-11:45: Sean O’Leary, Vice President of Unilock, will present Permeable Pavers and Their Role in Stormwater Management. This module will discuss the information needed for specification and detailing of various kinds of permeable pavers, including methods for using interlocking pavers as permeable pavers. Attendees will learn what pavers are appropriate for different kinds of installations. Mr O’Leary, a Civil Engineer, has over 20 years experience in the construction and building products industry.

11:45-1:00: Lunch and Exhibit of Permeable Pavement Products
 

1:00-2:00: Douglas O’Neill, LEED® AP, with the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, will present on Pervious Concrete Technology. This module will discuss where concrete fits in with the LEED Green Building Rating System and the Sustainable Sites Initiative; give an overview of pervious concrete technology; and highlight how
it is being used across North America to control storm water runoff. Attendees will come away with a better understanding of the many sustainable aspects of ready-mixed concrete and how pervious concrete has become a solution to storm water management.

2:00-3:00: Brad Oneglia, Assistant Vice President with O&G Industries Asphalt Division will discuss Porous Asphalt Technology, highlighting how it is being used, and how it contrasts with concrete and paver technology. Attendees will learn about specifications and detailing of porous asphalt. Mr. Oneglia directly oversees the operation and management of eight asphalt plants located throughout Western CT.
 

3:00-3:15: Break
 

3:15-4:15: David Verespy, ASLA, principal and owner of Rock Spring Design Group, will present a Porous Asphalt Case Study, discussing the design and specification process, the bidding process, and construction observation process needed to ensure that a project
is installed correctly. Challenges in specifying this kind of product and stor
mwater management results will also be discussed.     

Program includes continental breakfast and buffet lunch.
